gaudium et spes no. 22

The document gaudium et spes is a pastoral constitution in the modern world, promulgated by his holiness, pope paul VI on decenmber 7, 1965. The main focus of my write up is on the no. 22 of the document.
It focuses on Christ the son of God who came down to save man, in other words, it can be said to be about salvataion brought to us by Jesus Christ.
The no. 22 started by making it clear that It is in the mystery of the incarnate word that the mystery of man take light. This is because jesus Christ is the second adam, who by the revelation of the mystery of the father and his love, fully reveals man to man himself and makes his supreme calling clear. It is in him that all truths lies.
More explanation was giving about the second adam, who is Jesus Christ. He was presented as one with the image of the invisible God, who took the body of man, and by taking a bodily form, was exactly like us in all things, except sin. By this he was a perfect man, and through this, he restored the divine likeness which had been disfigured from the first sin. And by his incarnation, has united with humanity.
Through him, we were reconciled back to God, and delivered from the bondage of the devil and sin.
By suffering for us He not only provided us with an example for our imitation, He blazed a trail, and if we follow it, life and death are made holy and take on a new meaning.
Through him, we received the holy spirit by which we become capable of discharging the new law of love. And through the spirit, man is renewed within, even to the achievement of the redemption of the body. And if the spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, it will bring life to our mortal bodies. Christ by destroying death has lavished life upn us, uniting us to the father.
